I am a HUGE fan of Dryvebox — it is literally changing the game. I grew up playing junior golf in Hong Kong, and saw first-hand how so many kids don't have access to the sport in a dense city. With Dryvebox's technology, mobility, and tight footprint, the sky's the limit in terms of the incredible impact they will have.

- Charles, San Francisco

I surprised my husband with this in our driveway for his birthday; it was a total hit!  We had a bunch of friends over to enjoy it with us. It was such a blast. Highly recommend it! Everything was perfect. Look forward to using you again in the future.

- Courtney, Charleston

It was great to have the Dryvebox golf simulator at our outdoor Homecoming Dance. It was a fun option for our students to have during the event and they enjoyed the hole in one competition. . . . Students with ranging skill sets enjoyed it very much and we will have Dryvebox at future school events!

How it works

The following steps outline the franchise process and how you can become part of Dryvebox.

The Basics

Estimated initial investment: $137,142 - $363,877.*

Franchise fee (included in initial investment figure above): $34,000

Royalty: 6% of gross sales per month

Brand fund: 2% of gross sales per month

Average time from signing to launch: 4 months

The Process

We’re golf nuts. If you aren’t excited about golf and growing the game, and having fun doing it, this might not be for you.

  • Phase 1: Introduction to Dryvebox

We’ll go through the Dryvebox franchise opportunity including expectations, details on the business, available locations, costs, and timelines. In this step you’ll also get the Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). You can then review the FDD and determine what you want to follow up on and learn in Step 2.

  • Phase 2: Get to know each other

This is an opportunity for both of us to learn about each other more, make sure we’re aligned, get you more exposure to us and the product, and better understand how you plan to run the business. This is also when you will select your territory.

  • Phase 3: Become a franchisee

After we’re all comfortable with each other, you’ll sign the Franchise Agreement, pay the franchise fee and other initial fees, and get your box ordered.

  • Phase 4: Onboarding and launch prep

We walk you through training and orientation, giving you what you need to launch, run your business, and join us in cultivating golf everywhere. In this step, you’ll also receive your trailer, start initial marketing and sales, and get your home base set up.

  • Phase 5: Launch

Get the word out, have a series of launch events, and kick off your business!

About Us

Dryvebox comes from humble beginnings – sheets and wood frames in a garage, a prototype trailer dragged down to the local muni, and a guy with the golf bug. In 2020, Adeel Yang, Dryvebox’s cofounder and CEO, needed to solve a problem: he was addicted to golf, the pandemic had halted outdoor golf, and there was no room in his San Francisco flat for an indoor build. So, he came up with the idea for an expandable golf trailer. While dreaming up the idea was easy, building a golf-able trailer was not. After many rounds of trial and error, his vision became a reality.

As it turns out, other people really wanted to play in that box. That led Adeel, an entrepreneur with a 2 for 2 record of prior successful businesses, to turn this personal golf project into a business. He recruited others to help him build the company, and in the few short years since, Dryvebox has grown to 10 units spread across the nation, thousands of golfers experiencing the box, and a solid start on our mission of cultivating golf everywhere.

FAQs

  • How much will it cost to open a Dryvebox business?
The total investment for US franchises ranges from $137,142 to $363,877. Those figures include startup costs, the franchise fee, 3 months of expected operating expenses, and $15,000 to $30,000 in working capital cushion. Other countries have different ranges.

The heavy hitters in the initial investment are "the four T's": Trailer, Truck, Trackman, and Territory. If you finance the Trailer, already have a Truck, lease or already have a Trackman, and start with a standard-sized Territory, you'll find yourself on the lower end of this spectrum. Get to the high end buy doubling your Territory, buying Trackman outright, getting a high-end Truck, buying your Trailer outright, and generally going above and beyond our recommendations on everything else. Specific details of all costs are listed within our Franchise Disclosure Document (“FDD”).
  • How much money can I expect to make?
Dryvebox cannot guarantee your success, however, this is a concept we’re running ourselves across the US, and we offer support from the same people who are running trailers. Income from each Dryvebox location varies based on many variables, including market size, demographics, and a franchisee’s ability to manage the day to day operations and finances of their individual locations. Our FDD provides the additional context of the average, median, minimum, and maximum selling price of events held in Dryvebox units from July 2022 - 2023.
  • What is the Dryvebox Franchise Fee?
For the US franchises, the franchise fee is $34,000 for a territory that is roughly 500,000 residents. You can increase that territory for $10,000 for each additional 100,000 residents.
  • What are the royalty fees?
Six percent (6%) of your sales.
  • What is the brand advertising fund?
The Brand Advertising Fund is 2% of your gross monthly sales. We don't keep that money, but use it for brand-building, promotions, the website, and advertising.
  • What is the initial agreement term?
Six years, with your option to renew for 3 additional six-year terms.
  • How long does it take to open a Dryvebox?
On average, it will take about 3-5 months before your box is built and at your door. During that period, we will get you trained up and you will prepare your market for launch.
  • How many employees will I need?
For single boxes, most owners will operate the box themselves, and have a few trained people as flexible staffing for when additional support is needed. Other boxes operating in a network of units may run with a general manager (which can be the franchisee owner) and again, a pool of others for support.
  • Who is your ideal franchisee?
Our ideal franchisee is a person who meets golfers frequently. That can be by way of their day job, being a PGA professional, or otherwise. On top of that, our best owners are people who hustle and who are excited about sharing golf with others.

    What are your financial requirements?
We do not have fixed requirements. A person, on their own or with a group of backers, needs to be able to cover the up-front investment and have some cushion beyond that initial amount. This is not the case with every candidate, but for people we believe will be successful, we are very supportive of them attaining that initial amount and cushion via financing.
